In relation to the energy transition, layered storage tanks, also known as stratified storage tanks, are seen to be among the most crucial parts of a heating system for heat storage purposes. In order to address this issue, ratiotherm created the Oskar° layered storage tank with proprietary layering technology more than 25 years ago. The primary distinction from a traditional buffer storage is the ability to fully utilise the natural stratification—warm water rises, cold water sinks—by calming the water in the storage.
